After making morning coffee we decided to set off and stop for brekky later. The mist was swirling on the cut, skies were clear and the sun was rising with a pulsating yellow/orange glow. There was a chill in the early morning air, but all indications were that this was going to be a good day, weatherwise. Breakfast was taken on the moorings just past Br 152, a total stop of around an hour. Pushed on following NB Bramble ( a waterways artist, the crew not the boat ) who told us that this was his third summer on the cut. Spoke to a certain Mr Kitching at Kings Lock, he was on his way to the office and saw us, deciding to pull up for a chinwag. Stopped to stock up on essentials in Middlewich, ie. Bread, Milk, cash and Brasso. Sorry Stan those mushrooms will be clean when you come back to BH. Noticed NB Tan Lin on her mooring, Unfortunately I couldn't find John and Gills contact numbers this evening, maybe on the way back if we come back this way. After which we moved on to Church Minshull for our overnight stop, after all we had to follow up on the reccomendations of others and visit 'The Badger' for dinner. And very good it was too, Helen decided on the Cajun Chicken while I had the Chilli. Nice! As You Do! Tony (Chillied out) M ---
