Pottered about on BH for an hour or two cleaning brass etc then headed out for the morning walk, :-) We decided that an amble along the feeder to Horseshoe Falls was the order of the day so we set off about eleven, followed the feeder to the falls then found the station at Berwyn where we boared the 13:09 steam train to Carrog and then back to Llangollen which had us back at around 14:30 hrs. The remainder of the day was a day of lazing around doing odd jobs like finishing brasswork, replacing the heat resistant glass in BH's Stove etc, etc. And that is basically it. Except the tip about cleaning tarnished brass. Use a product called 'Shiny Sinks' to remove the initial tarnish BEFORE applying 'Brasso' or the normal polishes. Wipe the 'Shiny Sinks' muck on with a damp cloth (or use it neat) leave for ten minutes and the tarnish just falls off, I tried it and it works. Saved me a lot of work, problem is it will only work on real brass. All you have to do then is rinse it off with water or a very damp cloth, allow to dry and polish normally with 'Brasso'. Tomorrow we leave early, and head back towards the Macc. As You Do Tony M ---
