We had got used to waking to warm days and sunny skies, and were a bit miffed! Our journey back to Sowerby was further enhanced by a substantial fishing match. Although, as is usual along here, the fisherfolk were generally friendly. That is until we met the horse drawn trip boat coming the other way. This was most amusing to watch as poles shot back and forth to let us, the horse and the trip boat get by! The able crew of the trip boat managed to get by without sweeping any unwary fishermen into the cut, but we didn't mind! We stopped at the delightfully named Luddenden Foot for a lunch time break, and watched the Grand Prix in the dry in a pub whose name I cannot remember! We moved on, and arrived at Tuel Lane at exactly 4 o'clock, as instructed, and locked down with another boat (a rarity in these parts, but I think they had been waiting for us, as they knew we were due!) We sadly locked down through the other two locks, and I went to catch the train to Leeds to fetch the car. Once I returned we began the miserable task of unloading our belongings in the rain! We had a quick jacket potato in 'The Moorings', and set off home, wishing that the week could start all over again.
